INDUSTRIAL CENTRE

Associate Engineer (Ref. 240830005-IE)

The Industrial Centre is a central support department providing teaching, research, entrepreneurial and knowledge transfer support to the University. The Centre is looking for an individual who is innovative, technology savvy and loves to work in a team with people from diverse disciplines.

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a) facilitate student learning and development and develop pedagogies;

(b) lead and coordinate subject modules and promote teaching quality; 

(c) conduct research support and knowledge transfer activities; 

(d) assist in the implementation of strategic actions and conduct essential administrative operations; and

(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Centre or his/her delegates.

Qualifications 

Applicants should: 

(a) have a bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Engineering or a related discipline;

(b) be skilled in in any one of the fields: Android Studio, Visual Studio, Python or Java; 

(c) have analytical minds and strong problem-solving skills, preferably with a good sense of project management and execution skills;

(d) be positive and willing to learn, responsible, a good team player, and able to work with people from different departments;

(e) have a good command of written and spoken English.

Applicants have hands-on experience in any ONE of the following areas of expertise will be a big plus:

  • Electronic circuitry design, such as PCB schematics and layout design.
  • R&D experience in consumer electronic products, IoT or AIoT products is preferred.
  • Exposure or R&D engineering experiences in the healthcare or biomedical field.
  • Delivery of technical tutorials or training to a group of recipients. 

Preference will be given to those with work experience and a deep understanding of the application of software solutions such as embedded systems or APP development.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
