Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer/Sr Software Engineer to join HK01 to work on the HK #1 online media products. As a key member of HK01 engineering department, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our web applications, and/or backend services that support millions of online users. You will also have the opportunities to be collaborating with different internal teams to build web/app in other technical domains and delivering high-quality, scalable, and performant software solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain HK01 media and monetization products, and ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement new features, functionalities, and improvements.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, following best practices and coding standards.
• Continue optimizing product performance, and seeking for opportunities to revamp/refactor existing products to ensure the stability/reliability and maintainability.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and share knowledge with the team.

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript. Previous experience in other programming languages would be appreciated.
• Experience in one or both of the following areas:

1. Frontend development. Successful candidates should have experience in writing web applications frontend using javascript frameworks including React/NextJS, etc., working with designers and PM,  interacting with backend service/APIs.
2. Backend development. Successful candidates should have solid understandings about micro service architecture, experience in developing backend APIs/services using NodeJS, and knowledge about mainstream cloud infrastructure(eg. AWS, Google Cloud) and services, having knowledge in database, MQ.

• Proven experience in developing large-scale consumer products, handling high traffic and complex system issues.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, for Sr Engineers, it is also required to have the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Diploma or above in Computer Science or a related subjects.
