IT Engineer (Building Automation)

Siemens, a global leader in technology and engineering, is seeking an IT Engineer to join our Building Automation team. This role is ideal for experienced professionals who have a solid track record in building control systems and are looking to further their career in the dynamic field of building automation.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of building control systems, leveraging expertise with Siemens' DesigoCC, WinCC, and Desigo Optic software platforms.
  •  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, integrate, and optimize IT systems with advanced building automation technologies.
  •  Manage projects that enhance building performance and efficiency through automation, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians on best practices in troubleshooting technical issues and share knowledge of industry standards and methodologies.
  • Drive innovation by contributing to the ongoing evolution of building automation solutions and implementing new technologies.

 

Requirements:

Individuals who meet the following requirements or possess the equivalent combination of competence and experience are invited to apply:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Electrical Engineering or a related field. 
  • Proficient in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Java, or C#. Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Deep knowledge of automation and control systems, including experience with various controllers, sensors, and actuators used in building automation.
  • Expertise in communication protocols used in building automation such as BACnet, Modbus, or KNX.
  • Proficient in Siemens' building automation software tools, including experience with customization and configuration.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in IT or automation.
  • Strong foundation in understanding IT infrastructure, including advanced networking concepts.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems in a technical context, often in high-pressure situations.
  • Exceptional communication skills to collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Preferred practical experience with hardware components used in building automation.
  • Preferred knowledge of energy management systems or smart building technologies.
  • Familiar with cloud services and IoT (Internet of Things) concepts is preferable
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of experienced professionals.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
