Precision Robotics (Hong Kong) (PRHK) Limited is an innovative robotic company which aims to advance surgical robotics with novel intelligent surgical technologies. Precision Robotics Limited is a spun-off company from Imperial College London, UK. As a technology start-up company, PRHK is a very fast-growing company with its head quarter based in the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, and offices in London and Shanghai. Based on many years of cutting-edge world leading surgical robotics and AI research, PRHK was set up with targets on translating the academic research outcomes into clinical products enabling the next major transformation of robotic surgeries leading to better patient outcomes.
We are currently recruiting for the following position:
Software Engineer (SE) – a Software Engineer is responsible for design and develop the software of our surgical robotics technologies. The SE shall carry out research, design and development, testing and verification, documentation, and technique support of the software components of our surgical robots. The SE will also need to collaborate and work with other engineering, industrial design, administrative, clinical trial, and other teams of the company in developing the robotics system, conducting out regulatory approval process and carrying out clinical trials.
Responsibilities:
- Work in R&D and engineering team to design and develop a state-of-the-art surgical robotic system
- Design and develop software tools and packages for the surgical robotic products
- Liaise with other engineer teams to ensure seamless integration;
- Develop, review, test, debug software to ensure the quality and reliability of the software and tools
- Develop and implement product testing software and tools
- Conduct software testing and verification processes
- Assist the system prototyping and assembly processes
- Provide technical support of the products
- Support software QA for the company products
- Analysis and improvement on software efficiency
- Support the regulatory approval tests of components, devices and systems
- Support clinical trials for regulatory approval.
- Document the design and the development process in accordance with the Company’s quality control requirements
- Review with Line Manager to improve the quality of Company products at the design & development stages
- Acquire and set up the needed equipment, tools and materials for the product and prototype development
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers
- Perform other duties assigned by the company.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computing, electronics, or related disciplines; studying MS or PhD will have an advantage
- Experienced in C++ programming in Linux
- Experience on robotics and real-time communication is a bonus
- Knowledge in python, Java and other programming languages
- Knowledge in robotics and real-time communication is a bonus

- Able to work under pressure, self-motivated and a team player
- Demonstrate effective communication, time management and leadership skills
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin)
- Travel to mainland China and other countries may be required
